Kumar Builders brought organized mass housing to Pune well before its time, showing an unbelievable combination of quality and cost. Dignified accommodation for every stratum of society. With the vision of a slumless India, our first rehabilitation project was in Hadapsar. In 1995, our Satara Road commercial project changed how retail spaces were perceived. We shifted a disorganized and crowded market of 1,000 shops from Ravivar Peth to an organized wholesale market, creating a congestion-free environment in Dhankawdi. We are known for the selective location of our projects, where our clients not only enjoy better infrastructure but also experience significant rate appreciation. Our Hadapsar development, which started in 1989, is the best example, where our clients saw a 700% appreciation in property value. As markets evolved and buying capacities increased, people’s aspirations grew towards specific kinds of community living according to their individual tastes and lifestyles. We introduced concept housing to Pune in Mukund Nagar—a gated multi-building layout featuring elephant gates, ceiling paintings, and traditional jharokhas, creating a Rajasthani-style home away from home. The first formal identity of Kumar Builders took shape in 1999. As times changed, Kumar Builders constructed landmark commercial projects. With the retail revolution, we introduced Pune’s first mall with Central, and there was no looking back. In 2002, the Kalyaninagar IT Park, developed to meet the needs of the business fraternity, was the first to offer flexible business spaces. With every creation, Kumar Builders’ commercial spaces have become landmarks. In 2004, we introduced one of the first impressive IT buildings in Koregaon Park. From 2001-2005, known as the Golden Era of Kumar Builders, we were hailed as market leaders for trend-setting homes, milestone deliveries, and maximum fruitful partnerships. Long before regulations required it, green buildings were a reality at Kumar Builders. We started caring about the environment not because of rules, but from our heart. In 2009, we developed office spaces located at Pune’s prestigious Bund Garden Road, one of our Grade A buildings proudly bearing the green tag. We were also awarded the Srishti Good Green Governance Award for three years. This was an era when we were not only awarded as “Best Developer” in Pune but also recognized as one of the top ten developers in India by Construction World. With over five decades of rich experience in the business, Kumar Builders has spread its proficiency throughout the industry. We have left no stone unturned in the real estate sector to transform every thought into a valued space. In 2011, we introduced a project in Kondhwa, which is one of the first eco-housing 5-star rated projects in India, awarded as “Best Environment Friendly Project” in 2012 and also recognized by the Construction Week India Award. By this time, we had successfully delivered homes to 18,794 satisfied families across more than 106 projects.

- A congestion-free city – 1000 shops shifted to one market making an unorganized market into a organised wholesale market, fromRavivar Peth to Dhankawdi in 1995.
- Mindset research – In 1996 we conducted a one-of-a-kind survey of all our customers to understand they’re evolving needs.
- Brand Kumar – The first formal identity of Kumar Builders took shape in the year 1999.
- First concept housing – From elephant gates painting on ceilings, to traditional jharokhas, a home away from home.Our first IT Park in the year 2002 – The Cerebrum. A congruence of intelligence and leadership. The name comes from a thinking part ofthe mind. We studied the client business to find out their 2 biggest costs are operations and people. Thus, a regal green building with largest floor plate in the city was designed.
- Wow factor – Completed the construction of the first revolving restaurant of Pune in the at JM road in the year. 2003 Started the mall culture in Pune with Future Group in 2003 and ventured into organised retail malls. Creating benchmarks – First in Asia to receive the ISO 14001-2004 in the year 2005.
- First in Asia India to get ISO: IMS certification in the year 2002.
- Growth has no boundaries and good work brought fans everywhere – We were invited into the cities of Hyderabad in 2006, Nagpur in 2008 and Bengaluru in 2010.
- Anthropology at the core – Invited more than 700 customers to design their own homes and their township with Kul Ecoloch in 2007. Global mindsets embraced – We open our doors to FDI in 2007 by taking the first investment in our Project.
- The birth of Kul – In the year 2009, Kumar Builders was rebranded as Kumar Builders to cater to the evolving society.
- World Standards – At Nirvana Hills Slum Vihar we followed world norms set by World Bank for social funding in the year. and economic rehabilitation of slums.
- Awarded the Best Developer in Pune in the year 2009.
- Top 10 in India – Listed as one of the top ten developers in the country by Construction world in the year 2009. Design Patent – Received the patent for 2BHK slum apartment design where for decades that the rehabilitation scheme gave a room accommodation, though extensive RND under the guidance of Chairman himself, KUL designed 2BHK slum apartments.
- Krishi National award in the private sector.
